Fear of flying, fear of heights and fear of confined spaces are just a few of the more common phobias out there. Stage fright isn't just for the shy, either; many people — even outgoing, vivacious people — dread public speaking and will avoid it at all costs. Obviously, getting enough rest and being alert and healthy are important, but familiarizing yourself with the space you are speaking in and with any equipment you may need to use helps, too; nothing saps your presentation mojo like fumbling with audio-visual equipment while people are waiting for you to start.
