In this brave new gadget a day world comes something actually useful. We just came across a new way to use teleprompters that makes for far better on camera interviews. Documentary video director and award winning author Errol Morris created a teleprompter-like setup in conducting interviews which he calls the "Interrotron." |Interritron Prompter | |Interritron TelePrompter.

The device is rigged on the lens often a film camera); however, rather than displaying a written script, it is used to project the image captured by a video camera focused on the interviewer who is located just a few yards away

Thus, the interviewee can be looking straight into the lens of the camera to view the interviewers face while talking rather than off in some other direction .

The camera focused on Morris can also be arranged with a teleprompter showing the interviewee (using the "video assist" output if a film camera is used on the subject). Thus, the two talent will be able to carry carry out a simulated but real looking face-to-face interview for the interview .

The usefulness of this device is to allow the interviewer and interviewee to chat while looking right into the lens of the camera.
