Local FFA student receives national recognition (Kern Valley Sun)(public speaking)

Sarah Richter of Kern Valley FFA Chapter was named a national finalist in the Agricultural Communications-Entrepreneurship Placement Proficiency award program in July. Richter was one of four finalists who went on to compete at the 80th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. Agricultual Communications- Entrepreneurship/Placement is one of 47 FFA proficiency award categories offered at local, state and national levels. Using presentation and management techniques developed both in her placement and through other FFA events such as Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Richter delivers compelling agricultyre-based curriculum for youth ages four to eleven. FFA is a national youth organization of 495,046 student members preparing for leadership careers in science, business and technology of agriculture with 7,242 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
