Preparing A Wedding Speech

by Wendy Woo

Common challenges when it comes to public speaking, and in this case giving away wedding speech, are to come up with great speech and keeping the audiences awake at the same time! It is true that you have to be funny on some part of your speech to keep the audiences from dozing off, but the content of your speech should have meanings in it. When applying humour to your wedding speech, make sure your jokes don't overshadow the meanings you intend to deliver.

People will usually go for brainstorming first, the first step to producing your wedding speech. Brainstorming is the most important part in this process because you will then relate the points you have in order to produce the speech you want. Be sure the points are connected nicely and easy to understand sequence.

Coming up with a good speech doesn't mean you have to spend countless hour on it. The best speech is written earnestly not to mention it is short but pack with meanings. Keep things light, after all you want to lighten the mood not heavy with unwanted emotion.

You will need to freshen up before starting the second stage of finishing up your speech. Forget everything you have written. Continue reading that book or go watch some movies. And then come back to your draft. Once freshen up, you will be more aware of how your speech is written and therefore can determine whether it is good to go or not.

If you be smart about it, you will be surprised reading your well prepared speech. Just say your piece and be proud of it, and don't forget to enjoy the wedding!
