BLOOMINGTON — The first time he spoke in public, Darren LaCroix was bad. The conference, open to the public, will be April 11-12 at The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center. In 2001, he beat 25,000 contestants from 14 countries to win the title of World Champion of Public Speaking. Bloomington resident Jason Heissler, of the Sunrise Speakers Toastmasters Club, said conference-goers are lucky to see LaCroix. LaCroix, co-founder of The Humor Institute and a co-creator of The Humor Boot Camp, directs seminars teaching the use of humor in business presentations. read more
