The public will be allowed to comment on any zoning issue, except pending cases that are up for adjudication, Abate said. Public hearings will continue to be scheduled for pending cases, as is required. The decision to offer public-speaking opportunities was made two weeks ago and did not require a vote. Enid Lipeles, chairwoman of the Town Council, had urged the commissioners to offer public speaking when she spoke during the public hearing last Thursday on zoning revisions. The subcommittee had asked the Planning and Zoning Commission for several months to add a public-speaking opportunity to its regular meeting agendas, Unger said. read more
