Here are some suggestions for overcoming presentation anxiety and improving your confidence as you speak.

Unless you are a total extrovert, it can be emotionally painful to stand up in either a work situation or a group setting and share information. The fear of giving speeches or presentations can arise due to shyness or an undeveloped realization that speaking with passion is actually a very powerful tool.

Remembering that you aren't the only person in the room who may be anxious with presentations and public speaking can help you to relax and enjoy the experience. The more experience you have in speaking publicly, such as at a business meeting, the more this will lead you to a greater sense of confidence, and that will result in you conveying your message in a strong tone to bring about good results.

If you feel a great deal of anxiety at the thought of having to get up in front of a crowd and deliver a meaningful presentation or speech, then attend some presentation skills seminars. While it might seem ridiculous to you to think that giving presentations can be fulfilling or even fun, it is a goal that you can achieve by utilizing the techniques that many public speaking experts have made available.

It takes time, patience and practice but the benefits are many. Not only will you have higher self-esteem, you will find that your career may improve and with that you will be a more relaxed and calm person. Others will notice the change in you as you become more confident in every aspect of your life.
