The Best Six Tips for Writing and Giving Wedding Speeches

Most people dread giving speeches, especially wedding speeches. They are one of the most feared by the wedding party. These 6 tips will help you give a wedding speech that will be remembered for all time.

Here are a few tips to help you write your wedding speech whether it's the best man speech, maid of honor speech, or the bride and groom speech. Using these tips will help you write and give your speech with the easy of a professional public speaker.

First, read some examples of other wedding speeches. They will give you an idea of how they are normally said and what they used in their speech. Try not to copy them word for word but use them to give yourself idea on what you want to put your wedding speech.

Second, make sure what you putting in your speech are relevant to the wedding and not about some off topic subject. That's the fastest way to lose the guest to boredom and attention span. Include topics about the bride and groom, best man, wedding guests, and bride's maids and short stories about the happy couple.

The third thing is to make sure everyone is thanked for helping with the wedding. Work with the other speakers in the wedding party to choose who will thank who. That way no one is forgotten and everyone receives the thanks they deserve.

Fourth, always be yourself. Using words you don't normally use will just make it harder to remember, not to mention making it sound pretentious. When you write your wedding speech out, write how you talk. It helps you to remember your speech and applies your personality to your speech.

Write it down on a piece of paper! Create an opening, middle and closing outline will help organize your speech. It also helps you to remember the order so you don't miss anything or anyone. Use notes when giving your speech if you can't memorize it.

Sixth, practice until its word perfect. If you need an audience, get your family member or friends to listen while you practice. If nothing else, use stuffed animals or dolls to practice your speech on. You might not get any feedback from the animals but you'll be comfortable giving your wedding speech.

You want your speech to be remembered while making it easy to give your speech. Preparation and practice is the answer to writing and giving impressive wedding speeches. You're the only one to decide if your wedding speech is going to be hard or easy.
