The Key To Giving A Great Best Man Toast

by Tom L Jawichi

Ones wedding day is to be one of the best days of their lives. Being so, the Bride and Groom deserve to have a memorable wedding without any troubles. At most weddings, the most common disappointment is the presentation of the best man toast.

This is due to most guys not taking the role of best man seriously. Some think they can just wing a speech the day of the wedding spontaneously.

The problem is, once you get up in front of all of the wedding guests, it's not as easy as you thought. Everything you thought about saying the day of the wedding vanishes with the anxiety the public speaking causes.

Don't get me wrong, there are a few individuals out there who can give great speeches off the top of their head. That is great for those few, but for the average Joe like me that is not the case. Public speaking is one of the most feared things to do by the majority of people.

Avoid being responsible for the bad memory of the Bride and Groom's wedding by taking the Best Man responsibilities seriously. Make sure you get your act together and prepare yourself for the big day.

Start preparing your best man toast at least seven days before the wedding. When you have your first draft, have a few friends take a look and see if they offer up any good advice. When you get some feedback, revise your toast until you are happy with the finished product.

Next, it would be a good idea to start memorizing your toast, once memorized, practice the speech until you have it down solid. Practice in the shower, while taking a walk or while driving to work.

This way you will be fully prepared and it will reduce the amount of anxiety you have with public speaking. I can't express enough of how important it is to be absolutely prepared before giving your Best Man Wedding Toast.

You will thank yourself after it's all over and the Bride and Groom will greatly appreciate a memorable speech from their Best Man.
