The Simplest Way To Make Remarkable Wedding Speeches
You will probably be asked to deliver a wedding speech if you're the father of the bride, the maid of honor, the best man or just a great friend of the bride or groom. Should your speech be funny? Should it be heartfelt? Can you give a speech without passing out?By keeping in mind the following pointers you should be able to deliver a great speech.
First things first, if you have been drinking heavily avoid delivering a wedding speech. If you don't feel comfortable speaking in public without drinking, tell the bride and groom and they will be happy to ask someone else.
Nobody wants a rambling drunken speaker at their wedding. Avoid embarrassing the bride or the groom by mentioning old boyfriends or girlfriends the couple may have had, embarrassing mistakes they may have made or past marriages. If you were not invited to make a speech, please respect the couple's decision and do not steal the lime light from those who were asked.
Recalling the first time you met the couple and other such happy incidents make a memorable wedding speech. Comments like ' we all thought that it would never last, but you did it!', are NOT a compliment, only touch on the good points of their relationship, and on the ways they compliment each other.
If there is a funny event or memory you have of both of them, share it, everyone loves a good laugh as long as it is not something embarrassing or hurtful. If you are asked to give an impromptu speech you can compliment on how beautiful the bride is, how great the food is, the music, the dining hall, anything positive and thank them for inviting you and wish them luck. It's that simple.
at the end of the day wedding speeches aren't as scary or as difficult as they may seem. Practice your speech with friends and family, it is always a good idea to plan ahead if you can. In case you couldn't prepare your speech or were asked to make an impromptu speech, just make sure to leave a positive impression on the audience.
