Topic: public speaker - New program would streamline Murrieta's meetings records, voting … - North County Times
In lieu of the extra limbs, city officials are reviewing new software called the Granicus system that would streamline the storing of agendas and videos of public meetings, update the City Council's voting system in the council chambers and make it easier for Vinson to keep minutes for public sessions. Right now, Vinson uses five different systems to control the audio at the meetings, keep track of public speakers' time, document the minutes, record council's votes and to display the agenda and presentations on the video screen. The software also includes optional features, such as an updated system for the dais that allows the public to see how each of the council members vote and a way for the council to keep track of how many speakers spoke for or against any agenda item. The new features would also enhance the current online archive system, which has been in place since last year and allows users to check the full text of the agenda including all reports. The new features would not only streamline the documentation for each meeting but would allow for an interactive search of the minutes as well as the agenda, that could also link to video streams and 24-hour tech support for the system. I've seen this system at the city of Perris; they are really grabbing hold of it and making amazing improvements to their public access and streamlining their business process. read more
