Topic: public speaking - The Role Of A keynote Speaker Posted By : Sarah Boothman
In music, art and literature this is underlying, however in a commercial and business setting there is a greater importance on the keynote speakers and their speech. When a keynote speaker is invited to attend a conference or course of seminars, they will work with the event organisers to deliver a speech which sets down the programme of events and agenda for the following days. For cultural events the keynote speaker is often chosen because they are respected in their field, especially as these type of events are less concerned with public interest and more for those already involved in the sector. Overall however, most event organisers will choose their keynote speaker to attract a higher degree of publicity to their event, be it from the wider public or from a specific group of people. For most people, being invited to give the keynote speech at an event is an honour and thus they are not paid for their time.
