Yuma Glance 1-5-08 (The Yuma Sun)(public speaking)
Teen Leadership Academy is accepting applications from Yuma-area youths ages 15 through 17 who want to gain leadership skills. The program teaches participants communication skills, conflict resolution and public speaking skills. Yuma residents will have a chance to speak with Mayor Larry Nelson and City Councilman Paul Johnson about city issues Monday evening. The get-together, part of the city's Mondays with the Mayor and City Council sessions with the public, will start at 6 p. The sessions give the mayor and council members a chance to learn about the public's concerns in an informal setting.
